Okay.
I am sick of people stating how horrible and wrong gay marriage is.
It just disgusts me.
The silliest reasons are always brought up.
It's stupid.
Let's go over them, shall we?
(edit ; i felt like rewriting my retaliations, haha)

01) It's not natural.
many things we have aren't natural. for example, contact lenses, air conditioning, and cars are all man-made tools to make life easier. the food you eat is, probably, not natural. the clothes you wear are most likely made of fibers that aren't natural.

02) It'll encourage others to be gay as well.
the whole 'surround yourself with what you want to be' isn't exactly the one way to go. you can hang out with potheads, but that doesn't mean you WILL become a pot head. same thing with homosexuals. especially if it is (I do believe it is) a pre-birth occurance. and if it happens to be a choice (again, i don't think this), you can still choose NOT to be. to say 'well it will encourage others' only says that we as a society are weak minded and can't fend for ourselves, which isn't always the case.

03) Straight marriage has been around for so long, and has never changed.
marriage has been changed numerous times in history. back in the day, only the higher class could get married, only people of the same race could get married, and in marriage women were treated as property, not as people. not only that, but there was a time you couldn't even choose who you wanted to marry; your spouse was picked by your parents and usually had something to do with power or land.

04) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed.
marriage is hardly anything holy. in fact, you don't even need the church anymore. marriages is, essentially, a legal binding of two people. not a holy one these days. of course, you can get married by the church and a pastor, but that doesn't make every act of marriage a holy bind. plus, many marriages are so short lasting (britney, anyone) that there's hardly any sanctity in the process or action.

05) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children.
many people, even straight, can't produce children. many couples are infertile. should they be denied the right to marry? same with the old. should their marriages be void because they no longer have the strength to make and give birth to children? hm.

06) Gay parents will raise gay children.
if you ask many parents of gay children, they'll probably tell your they're straight. the orientation does not exactly determine the orientation of the child (or course, many families do tell children that being gay is a sin, so there's some tug there). straight people can have children that are gay. they can raise gay children. therefore, it works vise versa; gay people can raise straight children.

07) Gay marriage is not supported by the Bible.
not every person believes in the bible or the lord. to make laws based on religion is not only ignorant, but also a total twist of what this country was founded on (separation of church and state). and not only that, if we make laws based on religion says, we are forcing people to follows those religious rules. and that would be a violation of a person's right to religious freedom, more or less.

08 ) If a child doesn't have a mother and father figure, they'll come out screwed up.
many many children are raised with only a mother or a father. not only that, hundreds of thousands of children have no parents at this very moment, do you think it's right to say that these kids are better off being alone with no family rather then having two people love and raise them that happen to have the same gender?

09) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms.
society is always changing. always. every day there's some new thing that shifts how we, as a people, feel and think. to say something like gay marriage would tear the fabric of our mind is simply ridiculous.

Really. This is stupid. Ridiculous. Absolutely moronic. If you don't like gay marriage, then don't get one. Don't be a dick and ruin it for those who actually want to marry the one they love.
